I created this blog to detail my journey of trying to find balance with food, exercise, and life. I am a 26 year old working professional with a passion for fitness and nutrition. Having been a competitive gymnast, personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and marathoner, I have experienced firsthand the world of extremes. About a year ago, I decided to step out of the fitness industry where I never felt fit enough or thin enough, seeking true happiness and internal gratification.
That said, I do believe that eating quality food and exercising regularly are the keys to being healthy and happy on the inside and out. I personally don’t believe in dieting as I feel it creates major issues in one’s relationship with food. I think that if you eat satisfying, nutritious food according to hunger and fullness cues, your body will thrive and you will easily maintain a healthy weight.
I hope this blog provides you with some creative food ideas, good fitness tips, and a little insight into my world!

About Me:
- I was born on May 7, 1982 in Southern California.
- I received my Bachelor’s degree in Health, Sport and Exercise Science in 2004 from the University of Kansas thinking that I would persue a Master’s degree in Nutrition and become a Registered Dietician. I would like to go to grad school at some point, but I’m not sure I want to go the RD route anymore.
- I was married on September 3, 2006, and my husband and I recently moved to Colorado (on a whim) with our three year old Golden Retriever.
- After spending nearly 10 years in the fitness industry as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, and fitness director, I accepted a position in the corporate world working in Human Resources.
- I love running, yoga, lifting weights, cycling, and really any outdoor activity. I have run one marathon, a 48-hour/196 mile relay race, a 100 mile relay race, four half marathons, a few 10K races, and a dozen or so 5Ks. Last year, I participated in a stair racing adventure up the tallest building in Denver.
