Q.  How can I calculate how many calories I should eat per day?

A.  You can calculate your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) by using the calculator found here.  Take your RMR and multiply by 1.2.  Now, if you’re looking to lose weight, subtract 250-500 from that total.  This number should not be lower than 1200.  If it is, use 1200 instead.  Add the calories you burn working out, and that is your Gross Calorie Intake for the day.

Here’s my example:
RMR=1225
RMR x 1.2=1470

For weight maintenance:  1470+Exercise Calories Burned (500-700)=Gross Daily Calorie Intake (1970-2170)
For weight loss:  1200+Exercise Calories Burned (500-700)=Gross Daily Calorie Intake (1700-1900)
